Day 6 | protest_Lions_Gate_Bethesda_ViaDlr_GardenTomb
We enter the Old City through the Lion's Gate in the North-Eastern corner of the city. The first station we see would be the the Pool of Bethesda. Part of excavated pool we may see today and get impressed by its size and depth. This is one of the places in Jerusalem where the Savior performed miracle. Here, Jesus healed paralyzed man who was sick for 38 years. Church of Santa Anna welcomes all Christians to worship the Lord inside. The church has great acoustics.
Bible reference – John 5:1-15
Further on, we visit the place where once Roman Praetoria stood and where Jesus Christ was finally condemned to death by Pilate, and from where He began His way to Golgotha. This place is also known as the Church of Flagellation.
Having seen Praetoria we would walk towards The Skull, or Golgotha - the place where the Savior was crucified and risen on the third day. Amen!
Garden Tomb – Also known as Golgotha of Gordon, or Protestant Golgotha. Most believers from all around the world come to see where The Messiah was crucified and buried, and to see the empty tomb for He is risen. The best place to sit quietly reading the Scripture, or to worship the Lord and have Communion remembering what He has done for us and what price was paid.
Bible reference – Matthew 28
